The local fauna
Bonifacio in Southern Corsica is the ideal destination for lovers of nature and outdoor activities.
In a wild and preserved environment, Bonifacio and its surroundings offer a large variety of activities in April and October. The young and older, in groups, with the family and even solo, can enjoy intense moments of pleasure: sports, leisure, on land, sea and even in the air.
This stopover will obviously include culinary pleasures, and the not-to-be-missed addresses to discover the insular gastronomy.
We promise there is much to do, to see and to taste!
Maora beach and the Gulf of Sant’Amanza are 300 m from our Residence: it is in this Gulf that a family of dolphins have taken up residence, a breath-taking rendezvous not-to-be-missed. And at night only, wild boars fearlessly wander around along the countryside paths. You will perhaps also encounter big horn sheep during a hike at the Piscia di Gallu cascade in the l’Ospedale forest.
Lavezzi islands: these enormous granite boulders make these islands the jewel of Corsica: a true reserve of biodiversity. Don’t forget snorkelling in the crystalline waters and you will be delighted by the groupers, octopus, crabs, saddled bream, sea bream, morays – some of the 70 species found in these waters … A few pieces of bread and you will be surrounded by fish that will come and eat from your hands!
You will also see the Auduoin’s seagulls, the European Shag cormorants, the Cory’s Shearwater, the Peregrine falcons and many others as the Lavezzi islands are part of their migration stopovers.
